How does Algrano set its rate?

When you buy in your local currency (e.g., CHF, GBP or EUR) but the producer is paid in USD, Algrano uses forward exchange rates rather than live spot rates to lock in your price upfront.

Because coffee payments typically occur 3 to 6 months after contract signing, forward rates protect both parties from currency volatility during that time gap. These rates are calculated using: Current Spot Rate: Today’s live market rate. Interest Rate Differentials: Central bank interest rate differences between the two currencies. Because of these factors, the rate locked into your contract may be slightly higher or lower than live market rates shown on search engines.
