# What does “Inventory” mean when creating offers?

Inventory refers to the total amount of coffee (in kilograms or bags) that you're making available for sale on Algrano from a specific harvest or lot.

Think of it as the full stock of a coffee you’ve produced. For example: *‘This year I harvested 10,000 kg of this specific lot with X quality.’* Instead of entering the same information each time you want to sell part of it, you create a single inventory and reuse it to build both public and private offers. 

When creating or editing an inventory, you can specify the available quantity, bag weight, and the date when samples will be available. The available quantity represents the total amount of that coffee available across all your public and private offers.

**Why use inventory?**

1. **Save time:**  Enter your coffee details once and reuse them across multiple offers.
2. **Flexibility:** Use the same inventory to create tailored offers for different buyers or markets, adjusting pricing, certifications, or shipping terms as needed.
3. **Transparency:** Keep track of the total quantity available across your offers, so roasters can see how much coffee is available and plan their orders accordingly.
