Why does Algrano provide CO2 emissions estimates for each coffee purchase?

As transparency is one of our core values, we believe that you have the right to know the estimated CO₂ emissions of the coffee that you are purchasing as well as have the ability to compensate for it if you wish to do so.

We want to be clear that these are estimates using global databases – we’re not actually going to the farms to take measurements. This is obviously imperfect as estimates are never 100% accurate but rather approximations, but we feel it is a good starting point to get at least a general idea.
